  • Weeks 6-7: Our Active Sun II


    Learning Goals:

    Students will be able to describe the:
    • Nature of solar activity (Solar Cycle, flares, Coronal Mass Ejections)
    • Timing of solar activity effects
    • Effects of X-Ray Flares
    • Solar Wind
    ■ Solar wind primarily made up of proton neutral plasma
    ■ Magnetic field is imbedded in the plasma
    ■ Arrival time of solar wind at Earth
    ■ Solar wind measurements
