1. What is your role on the DREAM2 team?


Education/Public Outreach efforts in collaboration with the E/PO DREAM2 Lead Dr. Lora Bleacher, involved primarily in the recruitment of undergraduate students from Howard University for summer research internships at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, and also engaged in supervised directed reading and research mentoring of the students when they return back to the Howard University campus, so that they can continue their research and make presentations at national meetings and publish their results.


2. What about DREAM2 do you find most interesting? Most challenging?


The opportunity to interact and work with leading NASA scientists. Most challenging? To develop creative collaborative research projects and seek competitive research funding.


3. Were you a part of the original DREAM team, funded through the NASA Lunar Science Institute? If so, what was your favorite science result?


Not part of the original team.


4. What other NASA programs or missions have you participated in?


Developed a comprehensive spectral database and library of organic molecules for the Sample Analysis at Mars (SAM)/Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) project.


5. What kind/level of education do you have?


Ph.D. (Physics)


6. What advice do you have for students who want to work for NASA or on NASA-related research?


There are a variety of interesting projects you can work on, ranging from laboratory-based experiments to computation, modeling and simulation, pick one that you are most passionate about and put your heart and soul into it.


7. What are your favorite things to do outside of work?


Play tennis and watch sports (cricket, football and basketball).
