ISFM Virtual Seminar is Back!
March 17, 2022
The SSED ISFM team hosted the first ISFM Virtual Seminar since a pandemic hiatus, with three speakers representing FLaRe, Planetary Geodesy, and GIFT. Participation included HQ, Johnson Space Center, Ames Research Center, and Marshall Space Flight Center. The four NASA Centers will rotate as host on a bimonthly basis.

GIFT Tests and Refines Tools for Future Use on Places Such as the Moon and Mars

To protect precious hours available for extraterrestrial scientific investigations, a team at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland — the Goddard Instrument Field Team (GIFT) — is testing and refining the chemical-analyzing and land-surveying tools that will assist future human explorers of places like the Moon and Mars.

First Annual ISFM Poster Session

The SSED will host its First Annual ISFM Poster Session (a.k.a. Sip and Science) on Friday, September 21, 2018. Scientific posters representing the projects currently funded by the SSED work packages will be on display in an environment designed to foster creative thinking and collaborative discussions. For those who are on site at GSFC, the event will be held 3:00-4:00pm in Building 34, room W150.

SEEC recently co-hosted a workshop: "Environments of Terrestrial Planets Under the Young Sun: Seeds of Biomolecules." The workshop took place at Goddard Space Flight Center April 9-13, 2018, and the presentation materials are now available online.
